One of the biggest changes in television history is already here. I'm talking about digital cable TV.

Cable TV systems in most major cities now offer more than 200 channels for your viewing pleasure. In case 200 isn't enough, relax, 500 or more will soon be the norm.
"How can this be good?" you ask. For marketers, this spells one thing: O-P-P-O-R-T-U-N-I-T-Y.
First (this is important), you can promote to very targeted audiences. Think about all the different types of shows there are and who's watching them.
Want to promote a health clinic in a specific area to weekend warriors, or your restaurant to affluent retirees? There's a channel that reaches these targeted groups.
Next, even companies with limited budgets can now advertise on TV at rock-bottom prices. And because of affordable digital-recording equipment, small production studios are popping up everywhere, slashing the cost of creating commercials (make sure you check out prior work before committing any money).

Keep your eyes open for cable upgrades and opportunities in your area.

Technology has changed the playing field. TV isn't just for the big boys with deep pockets anymore. Used effectively, it's now an affordable advertising medium that anyone can profit from, including you!
